Creative Crew from MMS Emerges Victorious at NJSBA Steam Tank Challenge

  • Student Innovation in Action: Maplewood Middle Finalists in Statewide Safety Design Contest

    Maplewood Middle has a small parking lot for employees, so most members of the faculty and staff park on Salter Ave or Maple Ave along the side of the school. The on-street parking and the two-way traffic pattern were a problem, so the team focused on designing a plan to implement the new Crossguard barricade to replace the saw-horse barriers and a one-way loop in the morning.

Thanks to a team of innovative young minds from Maplewood Middle School’s STEAM Tank Team, a new one-way traffic plan designed to improve student safety is set to take effect on Monday, March 24th.
